Federal Hill Park: Planting Trees with a Glorious View!

The Baltimore Tree Trust and South Harbor Renaissance, with support from the Richard Kaminski Memorial Reforestation Program, had a great day on Saturday June 6th during the Putting Down Roots event – planting young trees to sustain a beautiful city park!

Tree Trust board members and staff plant a tree!

The weather was lovely, the harbor view spectacular, and the multitude of volunteers very enthusiastic as they gathered to work together to plant 27 trees, including oak, linden, and black gum, in Federal Hill Park.

Board member Thomasina Poirot with Bobby Smith (l) and Gene DeSantis, two of our most devoted volunteers.

Hole dug, tree in ground, now making sure it's in straight!

Thank you Hord/Coplan/Macht for site plan.

And the final touch: mulch!
