‘Hot Night in the City’

July 19, 2019

Artscape, the largest free arts festival, notoriously falls on the hottest weekend of the year, every year. While the festival sets up cooling zones, the street trees surrounding the festival will be another huge benefit to help people keep cool as temperatures sore over the weekend to 100 degrees.

Our city’s street trees not only help to keep people cool, but also help our homes to feel cooler, which cuts back on air conditioning and fan use and lowers energy bills. We love any reason to talk about the benefits of trees, but on weekends like this, we can’t help but swoon over the shadiest oak or maple on our block. Keep cool out there this weekend!
